Mozart's birthplace and other great adventures

16 students from 6 countries took part in our summer program from June 16 to July 24. Besides classes on two different levels we offered many exciting cultural trips and excursions to selected places of interest in Austria and Germany. Here you’ll find some reports written by students.

"On Wednesday, June 25, 2008, the Sprachschule students and I piled into the train for the two hour ride to Salzburg. When we arrived, we took the bus to the first stop – the Hellbrunn Castle. This was fun… and unpredictable. There were about 5 places throughout the tour where you’d get sprayed with water. You did not leave the place dry. We then headed over to the gardens to have lunch. On the way over however, we stopped at a pretzel stand and everyone got a huge, yummy pretzel. The gardens, where we ate, were gorgeous. That was also where part of “The Sound of Music” was filmed. After we walked around a bit, we went into the city and broke into groups. One, which I was in, went to see the Hohensalzburg castle and then Mozart’s Geburtshaus. The other group just hung around the city. The castle, the gardens, Mozart’s birthplace, and the city of Salzburg were beautiful and something I’ll never forget. We came back after all that, and surprisingly we all made it back safely and on time – without getting lost! ;)"
