Clarification Regarding the Schloss Hagenau Fundraising Project

As we have recently received an increasing number of inquiries and noted misunderstandings regarding the Schloss Hagenau fundraising project, we would like to issue the following statement:

The project centered on the nearby Schloss Hagenau (Hagenau Castle) has no institutional connection to Bogenhofen Adventist Campus (formerly Seminar Schloss Bogenhofen). Responsibility for the project and the associated fundraising lies solely with the "Bildungs- und Kulturzentrum Schloss Hagenau" (Schloss Hagenau Educational and Cultural Center) association, which operates independently of us.

This association is a private initiative led by committed members of the Bogenhofen Adventist congregation; in 2024, it was recognized as a Supporting Ministry of the Austrian Union. Although we maintain personal contact with members of the association, the governing bodies responsible for Bogenhofen Adventist Campus determined back in 2020 that, as an institution, we have neither the need nor the financial capacity to acquire and maintain a second castle. Furthermore, heritage preservation regulations would make using the property for our school operations extremely difficult.

The Schloss Hagenau Educational and Cultural Center project is therefore operated independently of our school and is not part of our own initiatives. Since both initiatives solicit donations, overlaps and misunderstandings occasionally arise. It is important to us that donors can clearly distinguish which project they wish to support.

The project for which Bogenhofen Adventist Campus has been—and continues to be—fundraising in recent years is the renovation of the gymnasium, including the planned media studio.

We ask all friends and supporters to contact us directly with any questions regarding the school's current fundraising projects: max.wieser@bogenhofen.at or +43 7722 63125 120. Thank you very much for your generous support of our educational and theological work!

In fraternal solidarity,
René Gehring & Max Wieser
