Munich

I think it is safe to say that our trip to München had something for everyone to enjoy. Whether it was shopping, or just seeing the sites, everyone was able to find something that they thought was interesting. Our day started with a two-hour train ride that landed our group at the München Hauptbahnhof.

From there we made our way to the Allianz Arena which is home to both FC Bayern München and 1860 München and was the site of World Cup games in 2006. On our tour of the stadium, we were able to see the beautiful new field, a sponsors lounge, and even the players locker rooms. We tried to imagine what it would be like if 69,000 fans were there to watch a match. For all the avid soccer fans in the group, it was well worth the trip just to see the stadium.
After that, we took the U-bahn downtown to the Marienplatz. During an afternoon of shopping, we experienced many other things that München has to offer including the Rathaus, German food, and the many references to Oktoberfest. Many of us also bought things that we needed whether it was clothes, scooters, or gifts for our families back home. Eventually, it was time to head back to Bogenhofen. Another two-hour train ride brought us all back to the school and brought a close to a good trip to München.
